Gasoline prices have been high in the Northwest Indiana area. Having the gasoline refinery operating again should lower the prices. Also, it will help the economy as workers resume everyday activities at the refinery.

I noticed that the local gasoline station chain, Family Express, now sells beverage subscriptions. They want to lure people into their stations. I figure out ways to drive less when gas prices are high. so, it’s smart of them because I am potentially signing up to get drinks every 6 hours.

British Petroleum’s Whiting refinery is the largest one in the Midwest. Reports say it is the 6th largest in the United States.

BP in Whiting and the steel mills along the shores of Lake Michigan are the economic engines of Northwest Indiana. Heavy industry surrounds the beautiful beaches of the Indiana Dunes National Park and the Indiana Dunes State Park. Away from heavy industry, the Indiana Dunes is a perfect place for a weekend getaway.
