Janelle Monae, William Shatner, and Mae Jemison will headline Indiana University’s historic Hoosier Cosmic Celebration during the April 8th total eclipse of the sun. Janelle Monae will take the stage for a concert performance at 3:04 p.m., right after the moon passes entirely in front of the sun, causing complete darkness. Some say this is one of the reasons why Bloomington is the best place to watch this year’s solar eclipse.
If I were going to be in Bloomington for the eclipse, this is one of the events I would want to experience. Janelle Monae makes beautiful music. William Shatner is a “Star Trek” legend. And Mae Jemison is an actual hero astronaut. Plus, all the other performers are fun. I have always loved listening to marching band music. It reminds me of college football afternoons on a sunny day. It brings me into a nostalgic state instantly.
